The quickest route from the south is to take the M1 or M40 out of London,
then follow the M6, M74 and A702 (junction 13, past Abington).
The principle but slower eastern road approach from the south is via the A1. This four hundred and thirteen mile London to Edinburgh road is part motorway and virtually all the rest dual carriageway, providing an 8 and a half hour drive. The route enters into Scotland immediately north of Berwick-Upon-Tweed and then follows the coast round to Edinburgh.
A more scenic option is to divert to the A68 from Darlington and enter Scotland at Carter Bay. This route adds 2 hours to the journey but leisurely undulates across high open moor.
Or alternatively let the Autoshuttle deliver you and your car via rail. Current services include London to Edinburgh and Glasgow to Inverness ensuring you arrive rested and with ready to go transport.
Major routes exist to all of Scotland’s main city’s.
